Kane Is Able was proud to participate in The Center for Supply Chain Research™ (CSCR™) and the Farrell Center for Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship 2nd annual Supply Chain Entrepreneurship Pitch Contest on April 19th at Penn State University, State College, PA.

The contest was open to over 68,000 Penn State undergraduate students at University Park and Commonwealth campuses. Teams’ ideas were ranked by sponsors, including KANE, on criteria including market opportunity, product/service originality, viability, applicability to supply chain management, and more. Awards totaling $12,500 were presented to the top three teams and mentoring provided by the Farrell Center to help turn their ideas into reality.

“To help young people recognize the intricacies of supply chain is something we’re always excited to do,” said KANE President & CEO, Mike Gardner. “It may not be the most glamorous industry, but seeing the next generation excited and interested in such a vital industry is something we’re proud of.”

This year the top three teams were also invited to participate in the Penn State Start-Up Week President’s Showcase and Reception during which each team pitched their ideas to University leadership, faculty, and guests.

“We’re honored to be a corporate sponsor of Penn State’s Center for Supply Chain Research for the last 15 years,” said Chris Kane who served as a judge. “Since the contest’s inception, KANE has been proud to participate; the students never cease to amaze us. All of the teams should be proud of their accomplishments but team DropLocker was truly a standout," he said.
