Kane Is Able, Inc. Recognizes Professional Truck Drivers During National Truck Driver Appreciation Week

September 26, 2013 – Kane Is Able, Inc. (KANE - www.kaneisable.com) recognized National Truck Driver Appreciation Week from September 15 to 21, 2013, with activities at its corporate offices in Scranton, Pennsylvania, to honor their 150 drivers and contractors. Each KANE driver received a monogrammed orange KANE golf shirt to recognize their service while emphasizing the organization's commitment to driver safety.

KANE sponsored coffee on Monday and Tuesday mornings to get drivers started on the road. On Wednesday, KANE President & CEO, Pete Westermann, and Senior Vice President, Transportation, Mike Albert, hosted an all-day cook-out for the drivers. Thursday started with a hearty breakfast of pancakes and sausage, courtesy of the Transportation Department, followed by lunch on the grill.

Throughout the week, KANE published a series of driving and safety trivia questions over Qualcomm (KANE's wireless communication used by the fleet) and more than 50 drivers submitted answers. Jay Tedesco of Dalton, Pennsylvania, took first place, winning a Kindle Fire tablet. Jim Smith of Madison Township, Pennsylvania, won second place and received an iPod shuffle, and John Culkin of Susquehanna, Pennsylvania, was awarded a bag of KANE logo items for third place. Throughout the week, daily prizes were awarded to 19 winners.

According to Albert, "Professional truck drivers are part of a workforce that moves more than 90 percent of everything found in America's homes today. On behalf of Kane Is Able, I would like to express our appreciation to every driver for your hard work and commitment to your profession."

In addition to operating 18 distribution centers across the United States, KANE manages a premier asset-based transportation service providing on-time, overnight delivery service to Northeast states, as well as nationwide customer deliveries throughout the lower 48 states.
