Kane Is Able Finance Team Update

Kane Is Able is excited to announce some recent updates from the Finance team. 

Marissa Marsico Picchini heads our team as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Marissa assisted extensively with the Harkness Capital Partners transaction that closed earlier this year. Marissa is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with over 20 years of finance and accounting experience with Baker Tilly, MMQ Accountants & Consultants, and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Marissa has been a member of the finance team since 2013 and we’re excited to have her in this leadership role.

Additionally, there have been a mix a new additions and promotions to the team.

Richard Sydney recently joined Kane Is Able as Director, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A). He will be reporting to Marissa and leading the FP&A and Treasury functions, which include KANE’s financial forecast, annual budgeting and planning, monthly operating plan variance analysis, insurance, real estate, and special projects. Before his current role with KANE, Richard was the CFO for FST Logistics, a transportation and logistics company based in Columbus, OH. Richard possesses more than two decades of experience within commercial finance across multiple industry verticals including real estate investment, logistics, automotive, retail and consumer sectors.

Melissa Doherty’s new role is Corporate Controller. She is responsible for all accounting operations, financial reporting and internal controls of the company. Melissa joined Kane Is Able as an Account Manager in 2017. She brings over 10 years of experience working in corporate accounting for private companies handling oversight of the financial function and internal controls. Melissa reports to Marissa.

Karen Bortree is now the Manager, Billing, Credit & Collections. She joined Kane Is Able in 2015 and has played an instrumental role in centralizing our warehouse and transportation billing and collection functions in addition to improving cash collections. In her new role, Karen will be overseeing customer billing for the entire organization. She will be reporting to Melissa.

Jessica Kovalchik and Danielle Hanis are now senior accountants. Both joined Kane Is Able in 2017. Danielle and Jessica both bring over 10 years of public accounting experience with a focus on audit and tax preparation. They report directly to Melissa.
