We’re wrapping up yet another successful Driver Appreciation Week at KANE.
We have been running events all week long to celebrate the hard work and dedication of our driving force. Each driver in our fleet received a bag with a jacket, mug, and hat. Along with that, we have been randomly picking names to give out other items like Yeti tumblers, coffee, gloves, and t-shirts.
By the numbers thus far in 2019, the KANE fleet delivered over 25,000 shipments for our valued customers. They’ve driven almost 5 million miles covering as far north as Maine and as far south as North Carolina with 98.5% on-time performance.
Most impressively, our drivers keep safety first. Our RIR (recordable incident rate) is 1.85. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics has 4.2 as the current rate. Plus, our fleet has gone over a year with no hours of service (HOS) violations and no driver fitness violations. Outstanding.
Although we wholeheartedly participate in the week’s events, at KANE, we celebrate and appreciate our drivers all year long. We work diligently to get our drivers involved in monthly safety talks, host semi-annual drivers’ breakfasts, celebrate safety milestones, even provide random tickets to sporting events.
Treating people with respect and appreciating their efforts every day. I know that’s why our driver turnover rate is almost 70 points below the industry average.
So, again, many thanks to all drivers for the work they do, especially our KANE drivers.
