In response to Governor Rendell's proposal to include a warehouse tax as a part of his 2010-2011 budget, several members of Kane's leadership team including Dick Kane and Chris Kane sent letters (2-22-10 Letter to Gov. Rendell) to the Governor's office pointing out that this tax would be detrimental to the economy of Pennsylvania.
The tax will make doing business in PA cost prohibitive compared to neighboring states which do not have such a tax. The end result will be companies not choosing to do their supply chain business in PA. That equates to lost jobs in PA.
The IWLA (International Warehouse Logistics Association) has formally contacted the Governor's office. We should learn more from their efforts in the upcoming weeks.
